Official Sweepstakes Rules

Sweepstakes is offered only in the fifty (50) United States (except Hawaii), the District of Columbia, and Canada (except Province of Quebec) and is open to their legal residents who have reached twenty-on (21) years of age in their home state, province or territory of residence at time of entry.

No Purchase, Transaction or Obligation Necessary to enter or win a prize. Non-Purchase Entries and Purchase Entries have an Equal Chance of Winning.

“North American Coopers Club Newsletter” Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:01 AM PT April 2, 2006 and ends at 11:59:59 PM PT July 31, 2006 (“Promotional Period”).

  1. To Enter: Only one (1) total entry per household.  There are three ways to enter: [1] Visit www.cascadiabrew.com and sign up to receive your FREE North American Coopers Club Newsletter (published quarterly).  By signing up to receive this free quarterly publication during the promotional period, you are automatically registered for the sweepstakes.  If you currently receive the North American Coopers Club Newsletter in the mail, you are automatically registered for the sweepstakes.  [2] Visit any participating beer making hobby shop and fill out and mail the North American Coopers Club Newsletter Sweepstakes form.  Entries must be postmarked no later than July 14, 2006 and received no later than July 31, 2006.  No mechanical reproductions permitted.  “Releasees” (as defined below) are not responsible for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, inaccurate, or illegible entries or postage due mail, all of which are void. Entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned.  [3]  To enter without purchase, transaction or obligation, hand print your name, address, city, state/province, zip/postal code, e-mail address, day and evening phone numbers and the words “North American Coopers Club Newsletter” Sweepstakes on a 3" x 5" card and mail in a #10 envelope hand-printed to: “North American Coopers Club” Sweepstakes, P. O. Box 31225, Seattle, Washington 98103. Only one (1) entry per household. No mechanical reproductions permitted. Entries must be postmarked no later than July 14, 2006 and received by July 31, 2006. “Releasees” (as defined below) are not responsible for stolen, lost, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, inaccurate, or illegible entries or postage due mail, all of which are void. Entries become the property of the Sponsor and will not be returned.

  2. Drawing: On or about August 4, 2006, a random drawing from among all eligible entries received throughout the entire Promotional Period will be conducted under the direction of Cascadia Importers, Inc. whose decisions are final in all matters relating to the Sweepstakes. The odds of winning depend upon the number of entries received.  If winning entry is sent via the internet, the person submitting the winning entry, not the registered account subscriber, will be deemed the winner.

  3. Prizes: (1) Grand Prize: Grand Prize will consist of a trip for the winner and one guest to the Great American Beer Festival® (GABF), held in Denver, Colorado September 29 & 30, 2006 and will include round trip coach air travel from the major commercial airport closest to winner's residence (as determined by Sponsor) to the GABF, one standard double-occupancy room for three nights and four days at the Hyatt Regency Denver, transportation to and from the airport and hotel, two tickets to Public Sessions on Friday, Sept. 29 and Saturday, September 20th and to the Saturday, Sept. 30th Connoisseurs Session, for a total of six tickets, a special greeting by a GABF volunteer, and US$200 spending cash.  Approximate retail value (ARV) is US$2,400.  Actual value will be determined by location of winner's residence and seasonal rates. Trip must be taken at time specified by the Sponsor or the prize will be forfeited in its entirety and, at Sponsor’s discretion, awarded to an alternate winner. Travel and accommodations are subject to availability and certain restrictions. Winner and guest must travel on the same itinerary and will be responsible for all necessary travel authorizations and for any travel insurance, (and all other forms of insurance) that they may wish to obtain (at their own expense and hereby acknowledge that the Sponsor has not and will not obtain or provide travel insurance or any other form of insurance). If the winner lives within a 200 mile radius of Denver, Colorado, ground transportation may be provided in lieu of air transportation and no compensation or substitution will be provided for the difference in prize value. (20) First Prizes: Coopers Brewery Men’s Black Mesh Polo Shirt or Ladies Black Chino.  ARV U$45 each.  (50) Second Prizes:  Coopers Brewery Pop-Top Keyring.  ARV U$5.70 each.  Winners are responsible for the payment of all taxes and for any other expenses and costs not specifically described above. No prize substitutions, cash equivalent or transfer of prizes permitted, except by Sponsor which reserves the right, at its discretion, to substitute a prize (or portion thereof) of comparable or greater value. All prizes are awarded “AS IS” and WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, express or implied, (including, without limitation, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose) by Sponsor.

  4. Eligibility: Sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (except Hawaii), the District of Columbia, and Canada (except Province of Quebec) who have reached the age of Twenty-One (21) years of age in their home state, province or territory of residence at time of entry. Employees or volunteers of Cascadia Importers, the Brewers Association, the GABF, their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, prize suppliers, and advertising and promotion agencies, and the immediate families (spouses, parents, children and siblings, and their respective spouses regardless of where they live) and individuals living in the households, whether related or not, of the above are not eligible to enter or win. Void in Quebec, Hawaii, and where prohibited by law. The Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, provincial, and local laws and regulations.

  5. Winner Notification: The potential winners will be notified by e-mail on or about August 7, 2006 followed by written confirmation. If prize notification is returned as undeliverable, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Potential grand prize winner will be required to complete and sign an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release, IRS Form W-9, and where legal, a Publicity Release, all of which must be returned within 14 days of issuance of prize notification or prize may be forfeited and, at Sponsor’s discretion, awarded to an alternate winner. Winner’s guest must be Twenty-One (21) years or older and must execute and return a Liability Release and, where legal, a Publicity Release prior to the issuance of travel documents or such guest will not be permitted to travel. By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to the use of their name and photograph/likeness for advertising and promotional purposes, worldwide and in perpetuity, in any and all forms of media, now known or hereafter devised (including and without limitation, the Internet) without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. Upon request, winner will provide consent to such in writing.

  6. Limitation of Liability: By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to release, indemnify and hold harmless Cascadia Importers, the Coopers Brewery, the Brewers Association, the GABF and all their affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotions agencies, and each of their respective agents, representatives, officers, directors, shareholders, and employees (collectively, “Releasees”) from and against any injuries, losses, damages, claims, actions, or liability of any kind resulting from or arising from participation in the Sweepstakes or acceptance, possession, use, misuse or nonuse of any prize (including any travel related thereto) that may be awarded. Entrants agree that the laws of the state of Washington will govern any and all disputes. Releasees are not responsible for technical, computer, mechanical, printing, typographical, human or other errors relating to or in connection with the Sweepstakes, including, without limitation errors which may occur in the administration of the Sweepstakes, the processing of entries, the announcement of the prizes or in any Sweepstakes related materials; or for transactions or entries that are lost, stolen, late, misdirected, damaged, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled, fail to enter into the processing system, or are processed, reported, or transmitted late or incorrectly or are lost for any reason including computer, telephone, paper transfer, human or other error; or for electronic, computer, or telephonic malfunction or error, including inability to access any web site associated with this promotion, or process any transaction thereon. If in the Sponsor’s opinion, there is any suspected or actual evidence of electronic or non-electronic tampering with any portion of the Sweepstakes, or if computer virus, bugs, unauthorized intervention, fraud, or technical difficulties or failures compromise or corrupt or affect the administration, integrity, security, fairness, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, the judges reserve the right at their sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process, void any entries submitted fraudulently, modify or suspend the Sweepstakes, or to terminate the entire Sweepstakes or that portion of the Sweepstakes relating to the suspected or actual tampering of the Sweepstakes and conduct a random drawing to award the prizes using all non-suspect, eligible entries received as of the date of such action. Should the Sweepstakes be terminated or modified prior to the stated expiration date, notice will be posted on www.cascadiabrew.com.  Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to deliberately damage any web site or undermine the legitimate operation of the promotion is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, the Sponsors reserve the right to seek damages and other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. As a condition of entering the Sweepstakes, participant agrees that: a.) under no circumstances will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket expenses; b.) all causes of action arising out of or connected with this Sweepstakes, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; and c.) any and all claims, judgments, and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event attorneys fees. Sponsor reserves the right to modify prize award procedures.
